A little care goes a long way- and whatever happens, it’ll age beautifully.

At Ugli Pup, our pieces are mostly made with sterling silver. Silver naturally tarnishes over time. Some people love that darker, lived-in patina. Others prefer things light, bright and shiny. Both are valid. Tarnish doesn’t harm the jewellery- it’s purely a matter of preference.

• If you want to keep your silver looking fresh, here’s how:
• Wear it often. Daily wear actually helps slow tarnishing.
  
• Keep it away from chemicals like perfume, cosmetics, chlorine, bleach, and cleaning products. Silver doesn’t love them.
  
• Take it off before swimming, hot tubs, showering, or heavy exercise.
  
• Store it dry. A ring box or jewellery box is best. Keeping pieces separate helps avoid scratches and tangles.
  
• Clean gently with warm water and dishwashing liquid. A soft toothbrush works well for crevices and texture.
  
• Polish when needed with a soft silver cloth to remove tarnish and bring back the shine.
• Feeling like your piece has lived a little too hard and fast? A professional clean and polish will perk it right back up. No shame here. We all need a spa day sometimes.
