Made-to-order items can take up to 8-10 weeks to complete, though most orders are ready sooner. Please note that this timeframe does not include shipping, which is handled by the carrier and is outside of our control. Keep this in mind when placing your order.
Occasionally, unexpected delays may occur due to material availability, the casting or finishing process, or high demand. If any delays are anticipated, we will notify you as soon as possible.
Full payment is required at checkout to secure your order and begin production.
Made-to-order items cannot be altered or cancelled once production has begun, so please double check your order details including ring sizes, quantities, and personal information before submitting.
Once your item is completed and quality checked, it will be shipped with tracking provided so you can follow its journey to you.
Your ring size is your responsibility! Each Ugli Pup ring is forged or cast to the size you select at checkout. Because our pieces are made-to-order, we cannot exchange or remake rings for incorrect sizes unless there is a genuine manufacturing fault.
Check out our ring sizing guide and conversion chart here.
To avoid sizing mishaps, consider these options for finding your ring size:
Local Jeweller: Head down to a professional jeweller and ask them to measure for you.
Measure at home: Use a flexible measuring tape or a strip of paper to measure the circumference of your finger. Compare it to a ring size chart (many online guides are accurate).
Measure an existing ring: If you already have a well-fitting ring, measure its inner diameter and check it against a size chart.
Consider timing: Fingers can swell or shrink depending on temperature, time of day, and activity - aim to measure when your hands are at a normal temperature.
Think about fit: Wider bands can feel tighter than thin bands, so consider sizing up slightly for chunky styles.
By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have selected your ring size carefully, and Ugli Pup cannot be held responsible for incorrect sizing.
Metal: All pieces are crafted from high-quality, solid sterling silver (925) unless otherwise stated. Some designs are available in 9ct yellow gold upon request - contact us for a quote.
Gemstones: All gemstones are synthetic Nano gemstones unless otherwise stated. Colour, size, and placement may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the jewellery.
Other Materials: Chains (excluding Ugli Pup handmade chains), clasps, and other findings may be pre-made but are carefully selected to match our designs and hand-finished for quality.
Variations: Handmade jewellery is inherently unique. Minor differences in texture, finish, colour, or placement of materials may occur and are part of the charm.
Care & Maintenance: Certain materials may tarnish, scratch, or react with chemicals over time. See our Care Instructions section for guidance.
Allergy Considerations: While we use high quality materials, some people may have allergies or sensitivities to metals or stones. Please check the product description and contact us if unsure.
Sterling silver is hypoallergenic for most people. However, some may experience some sensitivity or an allergic reaction to this metal. This is not a reflection of the quality of materials used. This happens because sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver, combined with 7.5% other alloys (commonly copper and/or other alloys). These additional alloys harden the silver to make it durable for everyday wear and use.
Sometimes 925 sterling silver has a chemical reaction between the copper alloys and moisture it comes into contact with; such as water, sweat, lotions, or skin acidity. This causes oxidation which may make the skin turn green or black. This is harmless, but can usually be prevented with care by keeping your jewellery dry, lettings lotions/perfumes dry before putting on jewellery, and storing jewellery away from environmental moisture exposure.
At Ugli Pup, “handmade” means real hands, real tools, and real craft. Ugli Pup is a small studio - every piece is designed, built, finished and quality checked by us. No mass production. Just small-batch, slow-made jewellery with guts, charm, and the human touch. You'll find that some items are described as handmade, and others described as hand-finished. Heres what these two terms mean here:
Handmade: Refers to pieces are created entirely by us using traditional silversmithing techniques. These pieces are sawed, filed, shaped, soldered, textured, polished, and finished completely by hand, start to finish, using precious metal sheet and wire. These pieces are true one-offs and often have the most “Ugli Pup” personality baked right in. Handmade can also refer to products that are designed in jeweller's wax by hand from scratch each time- before being casted in precious metal, and without the use of wax moulds made of original Ugli Pup designs. These designs will always end up looking a little bit different each time, with no two the exact same as each other.
Hand-finished: Refers to when designs begin as a wax model that we carve, shape, and build by hand in our studio. From there, the wax model of our original designs are sent to a local casting house to be made into a mould which allows a design to be repeated. These moulds are injected with jeweller’s wax, adjusted to the required size (if applicable), and then cast in precious metal. Once the casted piece comes back to us in it’s raw form, we personally file, solder, sand, assemble, polish and finish each piece by hand. These designs are ours from start to finish, with outsourced professional mould-making and casting of the designs to ensure a consistent and high quality product.
Each piece comes straight from the studio, hand finished and full of personality. Here are some things to consider:
Every piece is intentionally unique. Pictures show the vibe. Not the exact blueprint. Think of the product photos as a guide, not an exact replica of the piece you’ll receive.
Minor differences in texture, polish, gemstone placement, or finish are part of the process -no two pieces are identical, and that's the point.
Colours of metals and gemstones may appear slightly different in real life due to lighting and screen settings, or variation in product batches.
This is all part of the charm of artist-made jewellery - your piece is real and unique, just like you.
Your jewellery is made to last, but a little care goes a long way. They will age beautifully with you. Jewellery made from sterling silver will naturally tarnish over time - and some people love this look! It comes down to personal preference and does not harm the jewellery, however if you wish to keep your silver bright and sparkly, try these tips:
Wear it often. Everyday wear actually helps to slow tarnishing.
Avoid exposure to perfume, cosmetics, chemicals like chlorine, bleach and other cleaning products - they can tarnish your silver. Keep it dry if you can.
Remove jewellery before swimming, hot tubs, showering, or exercising heavily.
Store pieces in a dry place - ring or jewellery box is best. Keeping them separately will avoid scratching or tangling.
Wash with warm water and dishwashing liquid (soft toothbrush works well for crevices).
Polish with a soft silver cloth to remove tarnish and restore shine.
Please note: Tarnishing, scratches, or minor wear are natural with silver jewellery and are not considered defects.
